The Plead

from Pieces by Victim Iced

lyrics

Truth be told, you've been there for me since I can remember
Raised walls around me that nothing would penetrate
Your proud creation, a life that lived inside your shelter
Warmed the snake's egg in your bossum, how little you knew

There's something deep inside my mind that never lets me rest
A shrieky voice inside my head keeps telling me to sin
I feel the darkness brewing, spreading in my head
War, Love, Peace and Hate sound like synonyms to me

In this cell you call your world
You'll find carved on the wall
The Sinner's Plead

How on earth could you know me better than I know me?
Your sacred truth, you say, is so hard for me to see
The sense of freedom's what pumps my blood and feeds my brain
I wont pay the cost for your security and your fragile peace

For worse or better I refuse to choose the lesser
Of two evils that you say is the choice I have to make
Instead I'll pave my path, it's what brings you disgust
It was never meant to be safe, it's built on my mistakes
None looked inside, none could define
Noone said why kill our lust, noone cared if I felt I must
Still they rule by decree for lack of a better creed
A judjement by default for those who didn't choose to be born

I shall not yield to your distorted ideals
I will not flee or fight, I will just free my mind
Whatever change may come, I 'll try to stand my ground
As if we needed a reason to breath
